Die Heimatstube Hohenhameln

The Heimatstube, that is, the museum of the association, is the heart of Hohenhameln’s history.

The Heimatverein is the guarantor of social remembrance.

The Heimatstube Hohenhameln was opened in 1988. It forms part of the Heimatverein Hohenhameln e.V., which was founded in 1979 by Mr Herbert Fette.

The collection largely consists of tools, implements, and household items from a small-scale agricultural farm in Hohenhameln, gathered by the founder, Mr Herbert Fette. The core of the collection comprises agricultural implements and labour aids from the former farm after the agricultural business ceased operations. In addition, there is a wide range of exhibits from trade, industry, and crafts, which have been donated to the Heimatstube privately over time.

The collection also includes a substantial number of household appliances and domestic utensils, as well as written material from the last century and photographs of both the old and new village, which are yet to be catalogued. In the meantime, this focus of the collection has well covered the 1960s of the twentieth century.
