The principal structure of the farmstead is a striking two-storey timber-framed house in storey construction, combining both residential and agricultural functions under one roof—a common practice in earlier centuries. The eastern gable is punctuated by a centrally placed carriage entrance, formerly used for agricultural vehicles.

The residential section rests upon a sandstone plinth and is topped with a half-hipped roof. Of particular architectural interest are the coupled posts and diagonal braces terminating in the wall plate—hallmarks of the regional timber-framing style of the 18th and 19th centuries.

The building is adorned with numerous inscriptions: above the carriage beam, in the panel infills, and along the threshold of the upper floor on the southern façade. These inscriptions provide insights into the date of construction and possibly the original builder, while also conveying religious or secular aphorisms—characteristic of vernacular rural architecture of the era.

The barn is a single-storey half-timbered structure with exposed brick infill and features an asymmetrical longitudinal entrance on its north-facing courtyard side. Like the main house, it is topped with a half-hipped roof. An adjoining coach house (Remise) is attached to the eastern side, likely used for storing agricultural implements, while the western side connects directly to the stable. The spatial arrangement and architectural cohesion reflect the typical functional logic of a traditional Lower Saxon farmyard.

The stable constitutes the most robust part of the ensemble: a single-storey, gable-fronted solid brick building with a transverse passageway. The structure is roofed with a conventional pitched roof. The construction method suggests a later date than the main house and illustrates the transition from traditional timber framing to more durable masonry construction, as became increasingly prevalent in the latter half of the 19th century.

In addition to serving as a private residence for Thore Bastian and Angie Lindemann, the farm is today also home to a modern business enterprise: the company TBL-Music has established itself on the premises. Specialising in professional event technology, TBL-Music provides audio, lighting, and stage equipment for events of all scales.

The integration of this enterprise into the historical buildings exemplifies the harmonious coexistence of listed architecture with contemporary usage. Within the former agricultural buildings, modern technical systems are now serviced, stored, and prepared for deployment. The blend of historical ambience with up-to-date infrastructure creates a distinctive atmosphere—whether for internal operations or public events, where parts of the farm serve as an evocative backdrop.

The Giesecke farmstead is not only an architectural testimony to the agrarian cultural history of Lower Saxony but also a well-preserved example of the evolution of rural economic structures over the centuries. Its clear division as a three-sided courtyard—separating residential, barn, and stable functions around a central yard—embodies the ideal of agrarian self-sufficiency and efficiency.

The Giesecke farmstead today exemplifies the successful union of heritage preservation with modern living and working. Thanks to the dedication of the Lindemann family and the establishment of TBL-Music on the grounds, the ensemble is not merely maintained but actively revitalised. In doing so, the farmstead remains not only a valuable relic of Lower Saxony’s architectural heritage, but also a living space of cultural relevance and contemporary function.
